One 3004-278 serial programming cable is required with all SWM24 drive+motor models with an RS-232 port. The 3004-278 is used for setup and programming of a drive, but can also be used in streaming serial command (SCL) applications as a permanent connection between the drive and the host device’s RS-232 port.
